April 9, 2014: New unit!

Halfway through the week! Today we finished up our last video on Egypt and unveiled our next unit...drumroll....we will be moving on to ancient Greece!  This is a super fun unit with TONS of information so our days will be jam packed!

We filled out a KWL chart today which revealed that even though everyone thinks they know a lot about ancient Greece we really know very little! Ha! So we'll start with the basics and work our way up!

Tomorrow we will start with our intro presentation which will give a great overview of the region and culture.

March 6, 2014: Pyramid Webquest

Homework: Pyramid webquest due Tuesday

Today in class we began working on our pyramid webquest.  This is set up slightly differently than the mummy webquest was, to complete the pyramid webquest you must successfully navigate through the Nile River and choose all of the correct materials and resources for your pyramid to be complete.  By successfully completing the game you will find all of the answers you need.

We will have time to work on this in the lab on Monday.  Here we are in the library, working hard!

March 5, 2014: Egyptian Religion and Pyramids

Happy Wednesday! Today in class students spent time reading through the section on Egyptian religion and pyramids.  It discussed Egyptian beliefs and how and why they built the pyramids.

While reading students filled in guided notes linked here.  After they were done, they tested their knowledge by trying to complete this crossword puzzle without any of their notes or the book! I think everyone had to use the book at some point though.... :)

Both of these sheets are due tomorrow if you were not able to finish them in class.  Tomorrow we will learn more about the building of the pyramids through an online simulation.
