Jan 22, 2014: Mesopotamia's Legacy

Homework: Name poster

We continued talking today about Mesopotamia's legacies.  We finished up discussion on Hammurabi's code by reflecting on why it was such an important piece of history.  Its importance lies in the fact that it was written down!  This was possible because the Mesopotamians created a system of writing, which is obviously VERY important to us today!  We read through the section on this and discussed how the Mesopotamian language was similar to and different than our own.

Students finished up class by creating a name poster that showed their own name in print, cursive, and cuneiform.  They look awesome! These will be turned in on Monday so don't lose them over the weekend!
