Tomorrow is our big test! Tomorrow students will be taking the unit test for Mesopotamia. We spent class today reviewing using two different games. It really was awesome! Everyone did exactly what they were supposed to and I think it helped everyone review the major concepts before studying on their own tonight!
Our first activity was Taboo! This was a vocab review game based on the board game taboo. I put the vocab terms up on the smartboard along with words that could not be used when describing them, and students had to try to describe the word to their partner to get them to guess the word. It was much harder than it sounds and a great tool to review! It forces students to think about the vocab words in many different ways! Here they are in action:
We then played a review game with the whiteboards. Students stayed in their four person groups. I asked a question to the whole group and no one was able to answer for 10 seconds so everyone could have "think time". When I said go, everyone discussed the answer in their group, wrote it on the whiteboard and put it up in the air to be checked!
